Join area resident and accomplished actor David Ogden Stiers as he reads passages and poems from humorist and author Mark Twain, witty poet Dorothy Parker, author and born comedian James Thurber and others.
This “can’t miss” family friendly event will be held two evenings, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, and Thursday, March 24, at the Newport Performing Arts Center, 777 W. Olive St. Admission is by suggested donation of $5 for adults and $2 for youth.
Stiers’ readings will demonstrate and instill each author’s love of language and provide an appreciation for writing that endures centuries. This special event will also help local communities. All proceeds from the two performances will benefit two local charities - Partnership Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (PAADA), working to reestablish teen court, and the Children’s Advocacy Center, serving child abuse victims in Lincoln County.
