Maxine was born in South Beach, Oregon, to Henry and Elsie Omlid. She had an older sister, Ruby, and younger brother, Lloyd. She rode the ferry to Newport High school before the bridge was completed; and was the Queen of the first Newport Crab Festival in 1939.

Dean Bauman

Harold Dean "Doc" Bauman died February 15th from complications after his first chemo treatment for prostate cancer.
Dean was born June 4, 1942 in Harper, Kansas to Harold and Josephine Bauman. He married Mary Ellen Drake on his 19th birthday in 1961. Together they had two children, Erin and Karl.
In 1967 he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree

Patricia Melville Welch was born in Portland, Oregon, to John and Mildred Welch. She attended Creston Elementary School at the time of the Creston Fire. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1950. She began college at Vanport College (now Portland State University), graduating with a degree in education from Southern Oregon State College of Education (now Southern Oregon University).
