Chinook Winds hosts 'Brawl at the Beach' — Rare event draws 1,000 to Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITY — For the approximately 1,000 who attended WFC 25, the Brawl at the Beach mixed martial arts event hosted by Chinook Winds Casino Resort, the combination of sun, sea breeze and combat made for quite a show.

The event’s organizers, the World Fighting Championships and the casino, agreed that it was quite the success.

“Matt McGovern, the president of the WFC, was here, and we had nothing but rave reviews about the venue, with the ocean in the background, and the crowd numbers were good,” explained Heather Hatton, public relations manager for the casino.
