LINCOLN CITY ó Oregonís seaside resort town named after the 16th president turns 50 years old in 2015.

In preparation for the one-time historical event, the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce has formed The 50th Birthday Committee to organize monthly events throughout the year to celebrate the cityís incorporation, including a $250 winner-take-all logo design contest.

Lincoln City seems a fitting name for a city whose union of five different towns and county plots on March 3, 1965 has held strong, and even grown through subsequent annexation and expansion. The spirit of inclusiveness can be seen in the chamberís effort to commemorate Lincoln Cityís colorful and resilient history.
