Julio Lopez Mendoza, 86, of Toledo, Ore., died Jan. 2, 2013 at his home.
He was born July 11, 1926 to Santiago and Isabelle Mendoza in Alice, Texas. He attended grammar school, middle school as well as graduated from high school in Texas.
Julio married Rosa Todd on July 27, 1984 in Reno, Nev. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Toledo Elks lodge #1664 and the Toledo Eagles Lodge.
Julio enjoyed gardening, trains, and working in the yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Isabelle Mendoza; several brothers and sisters; his first wife, Clara Mendoza; and four grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rosa Mendoza of Toledo; daughters, Erlinda Mendoza of Salem, and Rosa A. Mendoza of Redmond, Ore.; stepchildren, Susan (Dennis) Tripp of Elk City, Deborah and Gale Glass, of Wrangel, Alaska, Don Schriver of Bend, Chuck (Cheryl) Schriver of Toledo, Mike (Robin) Schriver of Elk City, Joyce (Greg) Higgins of Crabtree, Ruth Sinsel of Siletz, Les (Nancy) Schriver of Reedsport, Rebecca (David) Ridel of Toledo; and more than 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Toledo Elks Lodge #1664, 123 SE Alder St. in Toledo.
