Charles E. Jackson, 83, of Yachats, Ore., died from health compromising complications of cancer on Dec. 5, 2012.
He was born in 1929. Charles served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1952, reaching the rank of staff sergeant. He opened Jackson and Farmer Auto Body with Jay Farmer in 1955 and worked there until his retirement in 1999. He then moved to Yachats, where he lived until his death.
Charles was beloved by all who knew him. A true Southern gentleman, he will be missed by all who had the honor to know and befriend him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary P. Jackson.
He is survived by his son, James (Sheryl) W. Jackson; daughter, Pamela (Gary) A. Sullivan; four grandchildren, Nicholas J. Rasley, Jennifer (Derick) Jackson Barger, Tamara A. Jackson and James K Jackson; and one great-grandson.
His burial ceremony will be attended by his immediate family at Yachats Memorial Park, as per his request. He will be laid to rest near his wife of 58 years.
