Lillian White Crom, 89, of Depoe Bay, Ore., died Oct. 23, 2012.

She was born March 24, 1923 to Andrew M. and Lillian White. She graduated from Vancouver High School in 1939. Following retirement, she returned to school to complete her degree, and in 1978 graduated from Marylhurst, which is now Marylhurst University.

She served in the Federal Civil Service, first with the U.S. Army and then in Albany, Ore. at the Bureau of Mines. She worked for the National Park Service during the establishment of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and the visitor center construction and restoration of the Hudsonís Bay site. She completed her 30-year career at Bonneville Power Administration as a writer-editor in the office of information and public relations.

She lived in Lake Oswego before moving to the Oregon coast, where she resided for 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Crom.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 927 N. Coast Highway in Newport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 945, Newport, OR 97365 or the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 510 NE Harney St., Newport, OR 97365.
