Stanley Piontek Jr.


Stanley Piontek Jr., 78, of Newport, Ore., died of natural causes at his home on Oct. 26, 2012.

He was born Dec. 1, 1933 to Stanley Piontek and Mary Anne Lewandowski in Havaco, W.Va. His family moved to Newark, N.J. when he was seven. He joined the U.S. Air Force at 17. He served in Korea and Vietnam and retired from the Air Force after 24 years of service.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE #2105, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice (Jordan) Piontek.

He is survived by his wife, Julie (Mattice) Piontek; children, Stephen of Oroville, Calif., Stanley Mark (Debbie) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Stephanie (Bob) Packard of Willows, Calif., Starla Perez of Orland, Calif., Stuart of Sonoma, Calif., Stacey (Stephen) of San Ramon, Calif., Kimberly (Scott) Miller of Orland, Calif.; sisters, Louise Bolt of Bayville, N.J. and Angie Menge of California.; brothers, Joe Jenkins of Whiting, N.J. and Ron Doyle of Lansdowne, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the service organizations, VFW, DAV and the American Legion. A memorial was held locally on Nov. 4 at the Newport Elks. Memorial services will be Nov. 13 in Sonoma, Calif.

Affordable Burial and Cremation is handling arrangements.
