Wendy Ann Wengenroth Haggin, 44, of Shelton, Wash., died of liver and heart failure after a long illness on Oct. 5, 2009 at Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
She was born Dec. 8, 1964 to Noel and Donna Wengenroth in Toledo, Ore. She attended Waldport High School, where she was part of the golf team and was named prom queen before graduating in 1983. In 1984, she graduated from A’ Arts College of Beauty.
She lived in Waldport for 19 years and also lived in Springfield, Veneta and Salem during her lifetime. For the past 15 years, she lived in Shelton and Hamilton, Wash.
She worked as a beautician for four years, but was allergic to the products, so she went on to work in retail and later worked in landscaping for a realty company.
She married her high school sweetheart, Stuart Fisher, in 1985; the two later divorced. She then had a relationship with Wally Morris, and in 1989, the two had a son, William. She later married Jim Haggin. After she and Haggin divorced, she found her true soul mate, Nathan Anderson, in 1999.
She had an exceptional knack for finding four-leaf clovers and passed on the skill to her son. She was also an excellent cook who was always trying new recipes.
She was a Catholic. She enjoyed drawing, artwork and movies. She loved the ocean and beach, the rain, wind and thunder, watching movies and her cat, KC.
She will be remembered as a great mother, daughter and sister who was caring, trusting and always ready to help someone in need.
She was preceded in death by her father, Noel Wengenroth in 2005; grandfathers, Gerald Shoemaker in 1990 and Walter Wengenroth in 1998; grandmother, Freda Shoemaker in 2001; and Nathan Anderson in 2007.
She is survived by her son, William Morris of Coos Bay; mother, Donna Wengenroth of Waldport; grandmother, Alpha Wengenroth of Salem; sister, June (Jeremy) Hickerson of Salem; aunts, Barbara Thomas of Eugene, Cynthia Smith of Salem and Linda Rose of Centennial, Colo.; and nieces, Rosemary and Madeline.
