With three games remaining in the regular season, Toledo’s baseball team took to the field Monday night knowing they could make the playoffs if they won all three. By the time they left, they were a third of the way there.

Chadd Fromm scored four runs, Reece Dobmeier pitched four innings of one hit ball, and the Boomers crushed the visiting Creswell Bulldogs 10-0 in five innings.

The bats were hot early for Toledo, thanks to defensive struggles for Creswell. In the Boomer’s first at-bat, Fromm smacked the 1-0 pitch to left field, making it to third on an error. From there he made the last 90 feet just minutes later when a passed ball let him slip to the plate to put Toledo on the board.

The barrage was just beginning. Toledo would hit through the order in the first, racking up five more hits, including a two RBI single for Jonathan Cyphert.
