Great White Invite sees big results as teams look ahead to districts

Like its aquatic namesake, the Great White Invite track meet, held at Morrow Field in Newport, was a big event, with seven schools from 1A to 4A participating. What’s more, athletes from Taft, Newport and Eddyville put up big numbers as they prepare for district and state meets to come.

Newport swept the team results, nabbing 234.83 points in the boys team classification and 273.75 in the girls. But beyond the team performances, athletes from all three local schools are rounding into peak condition and recording their best times of the year right before the all-important league and district competitions.
