Elbert, Irish girls golf buckling down on the links

Hang around Rocky Houston and the Waldport girls' golf team long enough and one's bound to here the term “buckle down” at least twice in passing.

To the Irish head coach buckling down means keeping your focus, doing your best and forgetting the bad shots while worrying about the next shot, the one that sits at your feet.

Kylie Elbert said she perks up when Houston starts clapping his hands and bringing both his balled up fists around his face. She knows what her coach is saying to her 20 yards away without actually vocalizing a word.
