Daniel Mock is frank when evaluating what his Taft girls’ basketball team needs to improve on most after a 1-22 season that had the Tigers at the bottom of the Oregon West Conference.

In Mock’s opinion, the only way to improve is to be honest with yourself, assess the weaknesses and try to combat them in the best way possible.

With a bulk of the roster returning from last season, including OWC honorable mention selection Jessie Wisniewski who led Taft in scoring last year, development can be expected solely on having an extra year of experience.

Taylor Adams is one of the players flying under the radar a bit, having just transferred into the program this year, but she’s capable of harmonizing with Wisniewski’s high-scoring capabilities.

“I do expect us to be an improved team from last season. We lost one player to graduation, so having some experienced returning players is valuable going forward,” said Mock.
