Youth wrestling signups set



The Lincoln County Storm mat club begins practice from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the former Mary Harrison Elementary School (321 SE 3rd).

Signups for the club are from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Wednesday, Nov. 11. Late signups are accepted. Practices are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The club is open to wrestlers of all ages from anywhere in Lincoln County, and cost to join is $50. The clubs focuses on Folk Style, Freestyle, and Greco Roman wrestling.

Siletz youth b-ball registration opens



Registration forms for youth basketball are available at the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians Administration Building, Recreation Center, Tillicum Fitness Center, and the Housing Office in Siletz. Deadline for registration is Nov. 21. Cost is $35.

Open registration is scheduled at the CTSI Recreation Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, and Monday, Nov. 16.

The organization is also in need of coaches, scorekeepers, and volunteers. To participate or register, call 444-8209.



Youth basketball coaches needed



The Newport Parks and Recreation Department is looking for volunteer coaches for the upcoming youth basketball season.

The first skill assessment for grades 1-6 is Saturday, Nov. 21, and the league runs though March.

Youth wrestling sign-ups are today



Sign-ups for the Newport mat club are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Friday), at the Newport High School wrestling room.

The fee is $50. Participants are asked to bring outgrown equipment for a gear exchange.

Practices begin the following week and are Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays. Practice for 6 to 9 years olds is from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and for 10 to 14 year olds, it is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Rifle club announces Turkey Shoot



The Big Timber Rifle and Pistol Club’s annual Turkey Shoot is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

Adults invited to play noon basketball



Adult basketball players of any age and skill level are invited to play noon ball at the Newport Recreation Center from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Players can also meet at the recreation center for pick-up basketball games from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

The recreation center is located at 225 SE Avery St.
