Acosta gets more than eight years in prison on convictions for sex crimes

Characterized as a savage and sexual sadist by court officials, Thomas P. Acosta was sentenced Thursday by Circuit Court Judge Thomas O. Branford to 112 months in prison for sex-related crimes committed in December 2011 against the late April Loper.
