Faux florists flimflam unsuspecting buyers

Kim Kinion, owner of Toledo Florist & Gifts, recently discovered that an online flower order taker from Florida was claiming to be from her shop and even had a local Toledo address and phone number on its website. Unfortunately, she says, it’s not uncommon for businesses advertising themselves as florists to be nothing more than a toll free number, a website , no real inventory and a litany of questionable business practices. Florida company still claiming to be local

TOLEDO – One Lincoln County man learned a hard lesson recently when he paid $99.99 for a dozen pink roses to what he thought was Toledo Florist & Gifts, but which turned out to be Florist Concierge, an online order taker based in Orlando, Fla.
